Diba Hakim Program Manager at Dr. Roz’s Healing Place Diba is in her third year of studies at UTSC with a focus on psychology. In the throes of demanding academia, part-time jobs and self-inflicted commitments, she found herself in search of a source of solace and stumbled upon the world of writing, reading and poetry. Writing and literature: what began with a safe space of comfort and relief led her to seek organizations that took this art and used it to make an impact in the community and the world at large. She began volunteering with Frontier College and has found it to be among the most important experiences of her undergraduate journey. Being a small part of the initiatives taken by Frontier College to provide a platform for literacy and learning to communities of children in the GTA has been a truly rewarding and humbling experience for her. She is especially passionate about mental health and education. If she's not working or studying, you can catch her listening to music or working up a sweat in a class of Zumba!"
